ADMINISTRATION AND STEWARDSHIP
Purpose statement: The members of this committee control the Church’s expenses, gift funds, budget stewardship
and building maintenance. We are committed to being capable and diligent stewards of the Church and it's
finances.

WORSHIP AND HOSPITALITY
Purpose Statement: The Worship and Music Committee led by the Holy Spirit, works with the minister and choir
director. The Committee will try to provide an orderly worship service that encourages people to participate in
worship fully.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
Purpose Statement: To provide opportunities for Christ centered education for people of all ages so they may

PERSONNEL
Purpose Statement: We will be caring, compassionate and supporting stewards for the paid staff and any

MISSION AND WITNESS
Purpose Statement: To be responsible for special offerings: One Great Hour of Sharing, Joy Offering, Angel Tree,
Pentecost, World Day of Prayer. To give council to Friendship Feast. To motivate all church member,s young and
old, to become witnesses in their daily lives, as set forth in “The Vision of First Presbyterian Church, Dodge City,
Three Year Journey”. To perform other related duties as requested by the session and/or church officials.

NOMINATING
Purpose Statement: To suggest the names to present to the congregation for the election of deacons and elders
of the church. These members suggestions to the congregation should be considered to be active members of the
congregation. They should truthfully accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. Prayer should be a meaningful part of
their lives. They should be willing to serve in their duties as officers of the church as disciples of Christ as capable
and diligent members. They must perform their duties as followed by The Book of Order.

This committee will also suggest members for the approval and election by the congregation members of the
Pastoral Search Committee. They will perform their duties as written in The Book of Order. They should be
directed by prayer and be guided by Christ in their search for a pastor of the church.

History of the First Presbyterian Church of Dodge City, KS

We, the First Presbyterian Church of Dodge City, owe its well being today, perhaps its very existence, to it's founding pastor,
The Rev. Ormond W. Wright, a 25 year old missionary from New Jersey. It was no accident that he was the first “man of God”
sent to the Dodge City mission field by any denomination, who was “permitted” by the 1876 inhabitants of the four-year-old
cow camp to remain in the town that was too wild and lawless to be claimed a part of the United States.
